Summit Residence

Nuns' Island town house

2021-2022

Project: Interior renovation

Location: Montreal, Qc

Project area : sq.ft.

Budget : 450K

Year : 2022

The owners wanted to renovate their townhouse that didn't meet their modern aesthetics. They hired our firm to work on the design of the spaces and replacement of all the finishes, to create a more minimalist and contemporary atmosphere.

We designed the interiors to improve functionality, while giving the spaces a refined aesthetic. In the center of the main level, a majestic four side gas fireplace divides the spaces while preserving the sight lines from front to back. This central object includes the fireplace which is visible on all its sides, the integrated tv like a work of art, and cabinets on the sides for storing glassware and bottles. The living room floors were replaced with large tiles imitating concrete, and all the baseboards were integrated into the walls to minimize lines and add to the purity of the space. The central staircase, leading from the basement to the attic, was completely refinished, from a mahogany brown to a light oak. A custom steel handrail was added and features concealed lighting.

Ghoche architect supervised the project until the very end of the construction.
